Portrait

Sometimes I get asked to do commission work. Sometimes I even get asked by friends. Usually children or family portraits. This is one of those. I was aked to make a portrait of my friends 10 year old. I think it turned out rather nicely.

I really like this one. Drawing from somethig in front of me has always been easier for me, and it was great that AD didn't even realize I was drawing her until I was done. I think this is my new favorite.

Adam Bruce

This is Adam Bruce. I've know him for the better part of my life. We went to high shool together, we work together now, and he was one of the first people to read Black Womb .

Mallard

We're going to be calling this one "Mal". We're not going to get into why. And yes, it is a coincidence that Mal means "Bad" in Latin. This doesn't look a whole lot like him, in all honesty. It's close though. I have to learn not to shade around the eyes so much. Every time I do, some little voice in the back of my head says "it'll be different this time"... never is. Arg.

Crane

This one I actually drew for someone, so I no longer retain the original copy. Thank god for camera phones. This is actually a pretty good likeness of the coworker in general, although it looks a little like a police sketch-artists drawing.

Still, valid piece of artwork.
